Ralph Abraham: Louisiana Needs a Conservative Governor

The race is set and the choice is clear.

John Bel Edwards WILL keep raising your taxes and growing government. Ralph Abraham WILL lower your taxes and prioritize what matters most: education, health care, and infrastructure.

Ralph Abraham Blasts Governor Edwards For Opposing Sales Tax Cut

Governor Edwards is opposing Rep. Lance Harris’ bill to reduce our sales taxes. Dr. Ralph Abraham is with Lance. He’s told Lance that if this bill fails, we will get it done when he’s governor. Louisiana doesn’t have a revenue problem. Louisiana has a spending and leadership problem.

Ralph Abraham Blasts Governor Edwards For Flood Recovery Incompetence

BATON ROUGE, La – Dr. Ralph Abraham, the leading Republican candidate for governor, criticized Governor Edwards for his complete incompetence in handling the 2016 flood recovery after another key flood recovery contract was canceled.

According to a report in The Associated Press earlier today, Louisiana was forced to scrap a contract “to help people whose homes were damaged by the 2016 floods” because of the cronyism in Governor Edwards’ office. Appallingly enough, when asked about this report, Governor Edwards tried to downplay its significance by claiming the contract is “not currently active.” After three years, Governor Edwards’ best excuse is that he’s failed to get these critical programs up and running.

“The complete incompetence and total failure by Governor Edwards to handle the 2016 flood recovery should disqualify him from being in charge of this project. We are three years down the road and he still can’t get it right. I can’t imagine the level of frustration felt by our citizens affected by these floods. They deserve better than this,” said Ralph Abraham.

Ralph Abraham Pledges to Prioritize Early Childhood Education After Years of Neglect From Governor Edwards

BATON ROUGE, La – Dr. Ralph Abraham, the leading Republican candidate for governor, pledged to prioritize early childhood education after years of neglect from Governor Edwards.

Even after imposing massive tax hikes, Governor Edwards has failed to properly fund and prioritize early childhood education. As State Superintendent of Education John White has noted, this is a “glaring failing” of his Administration.

“It took Governor Edwards until he was facing an election year to come up with any sort of plan for early childhood education. He’s completely neglected this important issue. I will make early childhood education a priority on day one,” said Ralph Abraham.
